OUR HISTORY:  Calvary Chapel Green Bay

Calvary Chapel Green Bay began forming in the fall of 1998 with a Bible study formed by some of the people who attended Calvary Chapel Appleton, WI.  Then, in June of 1999, Jim Bomkamp and his family moved from Seattle, WA and Calvary Fellowship to formally plant the church in Green Bay.  The Bomkamp's had previous been used of the Lord in 94-97' to successfully plant the Calvary Chapel church that exists in Helena, MT.  Calvary Chapel Green Bay is in fellowship with Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and pastor Chuck Smith from The Word For Today.

Calvary Chapel Green Bay met as a Bible study for most of 1999 and then began meeting on Sunday mornings in 2000.  Since then the church has had an ebb and flow of people as the Lord has been bringing together the foundation base of those who call the church their home.

In 2002, the church found a home for Sunday morning services in the Growing Time Child Care Center, 2738 Manitowoc Rd., in Green Bay, where it meets at 10:00am.  Baby and toddler care is available at the service as is Sunday school for young kids through middle school age.  We encourage high school and above ages to meet with the adults for service so that they can benefit from the teaching of God's word. 

On Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm, we have a mid-week study that meets at the Isable's home, 2183 Klondike Rd. in Green Bay.  During those services we have a home fellowship for adults, high school ministry, middle school ministry, fun and games for the younger kids, and child care.

In 2006, we  began an Evangelism Explosion ministry, and this ministry of learning how to effectively share your faith in Christ with emphasis on classroom study as well as on the job training (going out and sharing our faith) has yielded lots of fruit.  This summer we plan to begin our third semester.
